Oriole Bar
And finally we met up - Rhythmic Movement Group, The AJ Groove!
That's my cca in Anderson JC.
Perhaps a bit of history about us...
Our CCA was started by Mdm Yam, dance teacher who does mostly chinese dance and some aerobics. This cca was founded by her initially to be like Health & Fitness Club (which was disbanded) to promote dance and aerobics.
Our President, John, does mostly hip hop, and Siu Siu as well, who also choreograph dance. Debbie herself is a ballet dancer. This was my first touch with dance.
However, after we went for a few performances, the principal disband our cca (only 6 members) as he claimed that we are in direct competition with the core Chinese Dance Group. Our school's Chinese Dance Group is very strong as it clinches Gold on SYF most of the time. If we setup a modern dance group in AJ, he is afraid that people nowadays will join hip hop rather than Chinese Dance.
Hence, we are the pioneer and the last batch.
It had been sometime since we last met up. John could not join us unfortunately.
We met up at 313 Ding Tai Feng for Dinner and then Debbie recommended us Oriole Bar for dessert.
Here's our dessert!
That's Debbie's New York Cheesecake. It has a little tinge of lemon essence, and the richness in the cheese is ok for a person who does not take cheese like me.
Fion ordered the Honey Crumble as recommended by Debbie. It's a cup with biscuit crumbs at the bottom, vanilla ice cream with maple/honey syrup. Not bad!
And this is the nicest! Bananaoffle with Peanut Crumble! It's about the same as the Honey Crumble but I like the taste of the banana with peanut butterscotch and other nuts at the bottom. This is heavenly!
Last but not least, it's Siu Siu's Chocolate Fudge Cake, with the chocolate lava oozing out when we cut it out.
Here's grp pics of us:
Oriole Bar also sells main course like fish and chips and steak.
How i'll rate this place:
Food: Dessert is nice! Worth a try, especially if you are peanut butter and banana fan, the bananaoffle is a must try!
Ambience: A bit tad noisy and sometimes we can't hear each other talking as opposite there's other bars where soccer is playing on the screen. Perhaps if you go on other weekday nights, it's not crowded. Overall still a nice and convenient place to chill out.
Value for Money: Affordable/Reasonable
Service: ok
Till the next food post!
