Grandma's bdae

Celebrated my grandma's 79th birthday last fri. My goodness the food was so much dat it could feed 3 families of our whole family dat were present last fri (well of course most of the food is provided my our family catering business u see). Then my other aunties and cousin they also prepared their own food. Most of them were left unfinished(sinful sia). I felt like a facilitator dat night, cos everytime i will stick to my cousin but she wasn't present dat night as she's in msia. So i was like babysitting around.hahahahaha. 4-generation family. i was gg ard toking to my grandma(first generation) and sometimes even joining my aunties(2nd generation) and grandma in their conversations when i'm bored. If not i will go to the other room where there's the pool table where cousins of my generation are watching another 2 cousins challenging each other. Most of the time i was playing with the babies(4th generation) as i seldom get to see them and they r simply so CUTE! and my cousin is 4-mths pregnant! her second child~ gt another baby to play with soon =) I love these kinds of family gatherings. You get to noe how each other is doing and also where u showed care and concern for one another. the laughters and sometimes reminiscing abt the old times. But on the other hand, i'm not close to my mum's side. Probably cos since young i stayed with my paternal grandparents. grandpa had passed away and this yr is his 10th death anniversary. I cannot imagine what will happen if grandma is not ard. She's is the 灵魂人物 of the whole family and everyone respects her a lot. After my maternal grandma passed away, there's much lesser gatherings at my mum's side. I wonder if it's true for all families dat if the elderly in the family were not around any more, will the bonds between individual families jus as strong since most of the time it's the elderly who holds these family units tgt. Without the elderly in the whole household, will each individual family still meet each other as often?
